Data handled by the app

Depending on the features you use and the vehicle and adapter connected to BoxerView, the app may process information including your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), ECU and calibration identifiers, detected vehicle profile, connected adapter information or identity, live engine and diagnostic measurements, timestamps, validation and compatibility results, CSV diagnostic logs, ECU fingerprint reports, dashboard preferences, and safety acknowledgments.

Processing this information does not necessarily mean that it is transmitted to EMJAK Technologies.

Stored on your device

Saved diagnostic logs, detected vehicle information, dashboard preferences, safety acknowledgments, and related application data may be stored locally on your device. Where supported by the app, you may view, export, or delete saved logs from within BoxerView.

Uninstalling BoxerView may also remove locally stored application data, subject to the behavior of your device and Apple’s operating system.

When data leaves your device

BoxerView does not automatically transmit your VIN, ECU information, or diagnostic logs to EMJAK Technologies. Vehicle or diagnostic data may leave your device when you deliberately use an export, sharing, feedback, or submission feature and choose to provide that information.

The optional Support My Subaru workflow creates a report on your device containing tester-entered vehicle details and read-only compatibility results. VIN inclusion is off by default. You may select saved CSV logs, review the sharing notice, and confirm before BoxerView opens the standard iOS share sheet. BoxerView never automatically uploads or sends these files.

If you export a diagnostic log and send it through email, cloud storage, messaging, or another application, that information will be handled by the service you choose according to that service’s privacy practices.

Any future BoxerView feature that allows users to contribute ECU fingerprints, compatibility information, diagnostic information, or similar community data to EMJAK Technologies will be voluntary.

Beta application information

If you apply for BoxerView beta access through our website, we may collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, Subaru model and model year, transmission, market, modification or tune status, OBDLink MX+ availability, iPhone model, iOS version, optional ECU or calibration identifiers, optional ECU definition files you choose to upload, notes, and application status.

We use this information to evaluate beta applicants, select useful vehicle and ECU combinations for testing, administer TestFlight participation, communicate with applicants, and improve BoxerView compatibility. Beta application data, including optional definition-file uploads, may be processed and stored using Cloudflare infrastructure used to operate the BoxerView website, application database, and private file storage.

How submitted data may be used

Information that you intentionally submit to EMJAK Technologies may be used to identify ECU and calibration variants, verify read-only vehicle definitions, investigate bugs and compatibility problems, diagnose application defects, and improve BoxerView’s functionality, reliability, and vehicle compatibility.

EMJAK Technologies does not sell your personal information or vehicle data and does not use vehicle diagnostic data for targeted advertising.

Third-party services

BoxerView may interact with third-party hardware, software, operating-system features, or services. Information you choose to provide to those third parties is subject to their respective privacy practices. EMJAK Technologies does not control the privacy practices of independent third-party services.

TestFlight and Apple

Beta versions of BoxerView may be distributed through Apple TestFlight. Apple operates TestFlight and may collect or process information related to testers, devices, installations, crashes, diagnostics, and feedback under Apple’s own privacy policies and terms. Information collected independently by Apple is governed by Apple’s policies rather than this Privacy Policy.

Data retention and deletion

Data stored locally by BoxerView remains on your device until it is deleted through available application features, removed as part of application data, or otherwise removed by your device.

If you intentionally submit information directly to EMJAK Technologies and later have a question about that information or would like to request its deletion, you may contact us using the email address below. Some information may need to be retained when reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping purposes.

Children’s privacy

BoxerView is a vehicle diagnostic application and is not directed toward children. EMJAK Technologies does not knowingly collect personal information from children through BoxerView.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

EMJAK Technologies may update this Privacy Policy as BoxerView develops or as its data practices change. When material changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will include a revised “Last updated” date. Where appropriate, additional notice may be provided through BoxerView or its distribution platform.
